Ashley

Deyo

 is an    experimental artist

                      curator &                                                   installationist

Working at the intersection of architecture, history, and place, their practice is rooted in site-responsivity, with each work developed in direct dialogue with its spatial, material, and cultural context.

Engaging with the built environment as active and layered, Ashley’s work explores how spaces are shaped by memory, use, and perception.

Working with salvaged and secondhand materials,

Ashley embraces a sustainable, process-led approach where the making is as significant as the final outcome. Their work explores ideas of belonging, memory, and perspective, examining how people experience and interpret space.

Ashley's academic background is in History and Art History, with a postgraduate degree in Architectural Regeneration and Development. Their wider research interests, including social history and gender studies, inform their ongoing exploration of identity, memory, and the social dimensions of space.

Alongside their artistic work, Ashley develops and curates projects with a focus on site-specificity, collaboration, and engagement with heritage and community. These projects are designed to create meaningful connections between artists, audiences, and environments.

As well as workshops and courses,

                         their work is available for

              commissions, collaborations, and consultancy

across heritage, cultural, and independent contexts.

Ways to Work Together

Alongside commissions and consulting, a range of opportunities are available for organisations, businesses, and individuals to engage with the work in different ways.

Ashley works on a sliding-scale approach to ensure creative services are accessible to everyone.

For commissions, collaborations, or to discuss a project, use the contact form on the website.

experimental art workshops
Teaching-focused sessions designed for groups. These are hands-on, exploratory experiences rather than outcome-driven projects.

commissions
Creating a finished installation or artwork(s) for your space. This is a fully artist-led process, developed in response to your site and specifications.

curation & project development
Support in shaping exhibitions or multi-artist projects. This focuses on selecting artists, developing concepts, and coordinating how work comes together.

creative direction for spaces
A broader, collaborative role shaping the look and feel of a space. This may include installations, but also considers overall atmosphere, identity, and user experience.

installation consulting

Guidance for clients who want to create their own installation. I support the idea, planning, and approach, but the client or team leads the making.

research & concept development
Early-stage thinking and idea generation. Ideal if you’re not yet sure what you need and want to explore possibilities before committing to a full project.
